Multiple Intelligences theory boils down to the fact that there are a lot of different ways to be intelligent. Some of us are book-smart, some are art-smart, some are people-smart (and some, if they’ve been watching too much Simpsons on TV are Bart-smart!)

Overview:

This training helps Head Start teachers, parents and para-professionals more easily recognize different learning styles. Through fun group activities, participants experience first-hand how to tap into their own preferred learning methods. Lively role plays illustrate practical tips for finding how others learn best. Participants leave with fresh insights on how to discover a child’s preferred learning style and use it to teach them in a way that plays to their strengths.

Four Core Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants have a clearer understanding of how to put Multiple Intelligences Theory into daily practice.

  2. Attendees are inspired to promote a more inclusive definition of intelligence

  3. Early Ed educators and parents are able to more fully recognize different learning styles by reframing the basic assessment question “How smart are you?” into a more inclusive “How are you smart?”

  4. Attendees are encouraged to focus less on children’s deficits and more on their attention assets.

Summary:

Multiple Intelligences theory boils down to the fact that there are a lot of different ways to be intelligent.  Through fun group activities, participants experience first-hand how to tap into their own preferred learning methods.    Attendees gain fresh insights on how to discover a child’s preferred learning style and use it to teach them in a way that plays to their strengths.
